But, dont despair; a good mascara can work wonders.
If youre looking for the best mascara for women over 40, youll find it here, including the best drugstore mascara, just in case you dont want to invest too much in trying a new makeup product.
Of course, you dont have to wear makeup every day, but I do find that mascara is one of those transformative products that can make a huge difference.
Just a couple of swipes of mascara and a slick of lip balm or gloss can instantly help you to look more put together and give you a feeling of confidence as Amaris is showing in the image above.
As we age, our eyelashes change. You can lose some eyelashes as well as color, so the mascara which was a favorite in your 30s may no longer work in the same way.
You may find that your eyes become more sensitive or that they water more as you get older, so a sensitive or waterproof mascara may suit you best.
Another good tip is to make sure that your mascara dries quickly so that you dont end up blinking your mascara onto your eyelids.
While you may have a favorite mascara that youve been using for years, if you do want to try a new mascara, you might like to experiment with some of the drugstore mascaras here that are super affordable.
Here are some of the most recommended drugstore mascara choices for you.
Loreals Voluminous mascara is consistently well-rated, with reviewers praising the formula for adding volume as well as being long-lasting.
Many women recommend that you use a primer under this one for maximum effect.
LOral Paris Voluminous Original Mascara
As an all-rounder when considering the best drugstore mascara, I love the No7 brand. It adds a natural curl with the curved brush and had good staying power.
This has more of a natural effect than some other options, but you can always add one coat for during the day, then layer up for evening.
No7 The Full 360 All-In-One Mascara
If you do have short lashes, you may find that you get a more dramatic effect by using a primer underneath your mascara.
This option from Loreal features a primer at one end and a mascara at the other, so you only have to purchase one product.
LOreal Paris Double Extend Beauty Tubes Lengthening Mascara
Are you looking for a mascara to add extra length? Have you discovered the Tetyana Naturals brand yet? It has very good reviews on Amazon, with women praising it for adding volume without looking clumpy.
Tetyana Naturals 4D Silk Fiber Eyelash Mascara
Another option to try if you have shorter lashes and want a natural formula is Ilias Limitless mascara which contains beeswax to condition.
Surely everyone has tried or has at least one Mabelline product in their make-up bag.
The Colossal mascara is a good choice for a night out as its designed to add nine times more volume than your natural lashes.
Let it dry if you want to add an extra coat so that it doesnt clump.
Maybelline Volum Express The Colossal Washable Mascara
If you prefer to achieve a fanned out look with your mascara, this option from Loreal could be a good option to try.
However, some reviewers say the formula can be drying, so you may wish to pair this one with a lash conditioner.
LOreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Lengthening Washable Mascara
Maybellines Great Lash mascara is one of those iconic drugstore options that many of you will have tried.
If you want to enhance your lashes without adding color for a natural everyday look, you could try a clear mascara.
Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara
Another iconic brand that most women have tried at one time or another when searching for the best drugstore mascara is Covergirl.
If you havent given it a try since you were younger, you may want to give the new mascara formulas another shot.
The Super Sizer is a good option for adding impact for an evening make-up look. The brush is smaller than some other mascara wands, so you can get to smaller lashes.
CoverGirl LashBlast The Super Sizer Mascara
Most mascaras feature conditioning elements as well as adding color. If you are concerned about thinning lashes, you may want to give Rimmels Lash Accelerator a try.
It features a Propacil formula, which is usually used in shampoos for hair loss prevention.
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara with Grow-Lash Complex
If you have a bit more to spend you can look at some of the top brands for mascara. Here are our recommendations for the top mascaras for women over 40.
An iconic mascara that is a favorite in my make-up bag. Goes on smoothly, separates lashes well for a natural look, and stays put all day.
A good choice if you have short lashes.
Lancme Dfinicils Lengthening and Defining Mascara
Chanels volume mascara is another product which has won legions of fans. The formula expands so your lashes look thicker.
It doesnt clump so you can also build up layers until you get the look you want.
CHANEL Le Volume de Chanel Mascara
Another good option if you are searching for mascara to give you extra volume is Lancomes Hypnose Drama formula.
The brush shape means that your brushes fan out to create a bigger impact.
Lancme Hypnse Drama Instant Full Volume Mascara
If you are particularly fair, you have blonde or gray hair, or you want a more natural look for daytime, you may want to consider wearing brown mascara during the day and then black for evening.
A good option for an everyday five-minute make-up look.
Benefit Theyre Real! Tinted Lash Primer
Many women choose a waterproof mascara, whether you are swimming or at the beach or not.
A waterproof mascara can have better staying power, whether you are worried about smudging, your eyes tend to water, or you have an emotional event such as a wedding to attend.
However, do bear in mind that waterproof mascaras are more likely to dry out your lashes than other types of mascara.
You could always invest in an eyelash conditioner if that is something you are concerned about.
Also, you will definitely need a decent make-up remover to make sure you remove all traces of your mascara.
Lancme The Monsieur Big Waterproof Mascara
Many of us find that our eyes get more sensitive as we age, or perhaps you are a contact lens wearer and want to make sure your mascara wont cause irritation.
Cliniques high impact mascara adds volume and length, but gives a relatively natural look that is more suited to day-to-day. Its also safe for contact lens wearers and those of you with sensitive eyes.
If you want to make sure that your mascara stays put all day, Estee Lauders double wear make-up is designed to last for 15 hours.
The formula is particularly good if you live somewhere particularly humid or you are going somewhere warm on vacation.
Este Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Lengthening Mascara
Just as we are more concerned about the ingredients in our food, many of us are delving more deeply into the ingredients in our beauty products.
If you are looking for a natural or organic formula, you could think about RMS volumizing mascara, which features organic plant waxes and is paraben-free.
Its not as long-lasting as some of the other brands mascaras, but it does give a lovely natural look.
Do you usually curl your lashes? You could, of course, invest in an eyelash curler. If you do curl your eyelashes, you will notice that you get a much more open-eyed look.
However, you dont necessarily need to add a curler to your make-up kit. You could try a mascara especially designed to curl lashes while also adding color, length and volume.
If you do have lashes which are very straight, or which naturally have a downturn instead of curling upwards, Diors iconic Overcurl mascara is well reviewed.
Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara
Many women avoid putting mascara on their lower lashes for fear that it can transfer onto the skin under your eyes.
But, a special lower lash mascara can be easier to apply to the smaller, shorter lower lashes. Apply lower lash mascara first and then apply make-up to your upper lashes.
Another good idea when looking to add volume to thinner lashes is to use a lash primer.
Just as you would use a primer under foundation to create a good base for the rest of your make-up, you can use a volumizing primer for your eyelashes to make them look thicker when you add your mascara.
This Lancome primer conditions as well as adding volume before you add your usual mascara over the top.
Lancme CILS BOOSTER XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base
Another good option could be YSLs Flash Lash primer which dries clear on your lashes, ready to add your mascara.
Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Flash Lash Primer
If you want to look after your lashes in the same way as you look after your hair, have you thought about investing in a lash conditioner?
neuLASHs serum features pumpkin seed extract and is designed to condition thinning lashes.
neuLash Lash Enhancing Serum Duo
Or you could try the lash conditioner from Revitalash, which reviewers say makes a difference to the look of your lashes within around two months.
RevitaLash ADVANCED Eyelash Conditioner
Of course, if you want to create a major impact for a party or event, you could always add false lashes rather than relying only on mascara.
Macs false lashes have good reviews for quality.

]]>Grab your chai, today Im sharing my 15 most Favorite Things of 2019. Everything from kitchen gadgets to skincare to makeup to fragrance to fashion. The one item I am on the fence about getting in 2019 was an Air Fryer because most of them have a nonstick coating. I may give in and get one in 2020 provided it is PFOA free. Without further ado, here are my most favorite items of 2019.
1. Instant Pot 6 Quart
I cant live without my 6 quart Instant Pot. Although I dont make a bunch of meals in it, I use it mainly for rice, lentils, and shredded chicken. One of my favorite products of 2019.
2. Le Creuset Dutch Oven, 2.75 quart
You all know I cant live without my Dutch Oven because I talk about it on stories over and over again. I use it mainly for soups, chicken curry, and pasta. A little pricey, however you can find it on sale during the holidays. Williams Sonoma 3.5 quart| Amazon
3. Lodge Cast Iron Skillet
Perhaps my most used kitchen gadget, I use my cast iron skillet to make eggs, potatoes, and quick sautes. Its so handy and easy to use. Once you practice, I promise you will never go back to nonstick.
4. Ballarini Forged Aluminium Nonstick Stir Fry Pan, PFOA FREE
The only nonstick pan I own, but its PFOA FREE. Ballarinis nonstick stir fry pan is made in Italy and does NOT have a teflon coating, but rather a granitium nonstick coating. Its great for Thai curries, stir fry, potatoes, or any dish that requires a lot of oil.
5. Krups Spice Herbs and Coffee Grinder
I literally use this coffee grinder to blend my dry herbs and use it to make marinades and chutneys. It comes in handy when youre blending Indian spices to make items such as my Tikka Masala Pasta. A small and useful kitchen gadget.
6. Supergoop Daily Moisturizer SPF 40
Since Ive moved to sunny California, Ive needed higher SPF. Supergoop has spf 40 protections and doesnt leave a white/grey cast on my face. Its super moisturizing!
7. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner
I started using toners this year, and this one by Fresh is my absolute favorite. It smells lovely and removes my dirt, oil, and makeup.
8. Becca Under Eye Color Corrector
Ive tested out a few color correctors, however this one is my favorite since it targets the color and the eye bag area. Im in the shade medium to deep.
9. Becca Highlighter
A little bit goes a long way, the Becca highlighter in Champagne Pop gives you that perfect glow, and its ideal for brown to olive toned complexion.
10. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
After using Tarte Shape Tape for about 6 months, I switched back to Nars. Both Tarte and Nars are great conealers, however I found Nars to be a little more hydrating and less cakey than Tarte. Im in the shade cafe con leche.
11. Anastasia Beverly Hills Jackie Aina Palette
I love the variety of colors in this palette blues, purples, pinks, browns. I recently purchased this palette and Im having a lot of fun with it.
12. Hourglass Blush
I was using Nars Orgasm for the longest time, and I finally bought a new blush Mood Exposure by Hourglass. Its a gorgeous pink plum color that works on any skin tone.
13. Travel Makeup Case
Since I travel between California and New Jersey quite a bit, I need all my makeup, skincare, and perfumed in one place. The last thing I wanna do is pack my makeup bag separate. I place this makeup bag in my drawer and zip and pack it up when Im traveling. A must have! Large Size | Small Size
14. Tom Ford Soleil Blanc
My favorite fragrance purchase of the year. Both my husband and I love this scent on me. Its soft, floral with orange notes. I love it!
15. Barefoot Dreams Cozy Cardigan
Out of all the clothes I purchased this year, I wear this cardigan all the time. Whenever Im cold at home, I put this cardigan on. When Im going to the grocery store and need something warm, I grab this cardigan. Its my goto!
And thats it!

]]>I didnt know what to title this because I want to include more than just how I prepped for my wedding! I want to talk about how I felt in the days leading up, what cycle phase I was in and how I handled being in Mexico with tequila and friends for 3 days before my actual wedding lol.
Everything worked out flawlessly and turned out even better than I could have imagined, truly. My wedding week was truly magical!! I didnt know what to expect for a destination wedding and felt a lot of pressure/guilt for all these amazing people in our lives that traveled so far to celebrate with us. But everyone who genuinely wanted to be there was there and I keep looking at our pictures to re-live the whole experience!
We got to Puerto Vallarta on Tuesday afternoon and our wedding was on Friday so we had a few days to decompress beforehand. We chose the Hyatt Ziva and were blown away by them! The resort sits between the mountains with a private beach so no random people could walk by and watch us get married. We wanted it to be personal and private. It was beyond special! The staff went out of their way to make our stay (and wedding) incredible. We stayed in the Club Tower so we could get the premium booze and updated rooms (highly recommend).
On Wednesday we walked around, relaxed and got our lay of the land. Many of our guests arrived on Wednesday so we all met up at the beach for sunset pictures and cocktails, and to watch the daily release of baby sea turtles which was adorable and made me miss Taz (lol).
On Thursday, I had a relaxing morning doing yoga and getting my nails done at the spa and then we had a perfect beach day. Later in the afternoon I had a trial run for my wedding hair and makeup, and then we had our rehearsal dinner in downtown Puerto Vallarta that night. All of the remaining guests arrived on this day and I was starting to feel overwhelmed. Of course I was so happy everyone was there but I was not feeling like myself. I dont think it helped that Terry was ready to go ALL OUT the night before our wedding which was giving me MAJOR ANXIETY. He wanted to party! I had to look pretty the next day! I didnt want to be hungover! I wanted a good nights rest! I was NOT wanting to stay out late to socialize! But he was so excited LOL so that was a struggle because I wanted him to be happy but also like why was he being like this the night before our wedding day?! Eventually I convinced him to head back to the resort and all was well haha.
P.S. My drink of choice the whole week was tequila soda with fresh lime! Sometimes champagne but mostly tequila because its an upper and doesnt give me a headache like most other alcohol. I highly recommend! Its not sugary so you wont feel bloated either.
I woke up in a total funk. Terry had gone fishing early so I woke up alone, out of it and felt semi-hungover even though I didnt drink much at the rehearsal. I did an hour of yoga to clear my head, ordered some room service (papaya with shredded coconut and toast), took lots of CBD, drank lots of water and spent the morning by myself trying to get of my annoying funk before the makeup artists arrived. I was like WTF why am I feeling like this! Im so excited and ready and have been waiting for this day for forever! So I told myself to snap out of it. I wasnt nervous, just so anxious and then once my mom arrived I felt better immediately. I think that time alone in the morning was too much for some reason.. but then I turned on music, had a cup of coffee (I needed it) and calmed down.
Getting my hair and makeup done was so relaxing and nice and exactly what I needed. At home, I keep my makeup minimal and natural (and usually wear nothing at all) so when I first saw my makeup I hated it because I didnt recognize myself. It worried me because Terry doesnt like a lot of makeup. I just felt gothic even though it SO wasnt. It was beautiful, beachy and glowy, and exactly what I asked for. For pictures, you have to wear a little more makeup than you normally would so I just wasnt used to it but it grew on me. Also my hair turned out differently than my trial run but I decided I wouldnt let it bother me because there was no changing it. I had to put my dress on! Everyone was looking so beautiful. My bouquet arrived and then our photographer shortly after. Things were getting real!! We took pictures in my room with my sister in law, my parents and then some of me alone in my dress. And then it was time to go!
We trekked to our waiting spot before the ceremony and took lots of deep breaths. I could hear the violin playing and started to get emotional. My dad said it was time and then I felt the urge to cry but held it in. When I finally turned the corner and saw Terry everything else went blurry. It was such a moment. He looked so handsome and I remember just looking at him while also trying not to trip, ha. The whole ceremony was pure bliss and I felt like I was floating. And just like that it was over! The reception was also magical because the sun was starting to set, the cocktails were flowing and I felt so much relief that all went well at the ceremony, I could finally breathe and enjoy myself. But not quite yet because we had to take lots of sunset pictures with our photographer! Good thing I had my angel of a sister in law there to fix my hair and dress and literally everything (also my makeup was melting off because it was so hot and I felt like a mess lol). Finally we were done and sat down for dinner, toasts and speeches. And then dancing!! I had the perfect amount of tequila shots haha and only had the chance for one bite of vegan cake which I so regret because everyone said it was EPIC but the rest of the night we were on the dance floor. The DJ ended earlier than I expected but I think this is the case for many resorts so that is something to keep in mind. We ended the night at the tequila bar! Unforgettable just about sums it up.
Surreal! We were married! And Terrys best friend rented a yacht for the day for all the young people which was the icing on the cake. I mean WOW. To be on a beautiful yacht in Mexico with cocktails, your new husband and your favorite people. Is there anything better?! Yes, it got even better because then we saw whales and dolphins, snorkled at Los Arcos and got to swim off the yacht to a secluded beach with the biggest waves youve ever seen. It was not real life. I will never forget it.
By the end of it all we were totally wiped out. And the next few days were all about relaxing, eating and soaking it all in
Shocking news! During my wedding week I was in the menstrual phase. I survived just fine (given my periods are much easier than they used to be) but this could also be the reason for why I was in my head so much and why I had lots of feelings of overwhelm. Im used to hibernating during this phase, not having my wedding! I didnt feel as social as I wanted to be but the beauty of the menstrual phase is how grounded and in tune you are with feelings and emotions. I had ALL the feels the whole week and was able to soak it all in that much more. I truly made the most of it and didnt let my period get in the way. I too wanted to plan my wedding around my cycle but it was near impossible to plan when my wedding day was over a year away even just a couple days of your cycle being thrown off can shift where you will end up during your wedding. I wont lie, I dreaded being in a teeny bikini all week (although theSaalt menstrual cup was life-changing). I wanted to share this because theres absolutely no need to try and plan your wedding around your cycle unless you are getting married within a couple months of your engagement. Each phase has its own pros and cons so just go with the flow (literally) and everything will fall into place as it always does. It will be the best day no matter what and you wont be thinking about where you are in your cycle, promise. P.S. If you want to learn more about optimizing each cycle phase using a plant based diet, check out my book, The Happy Hormone Guide!
So thats it! I hope you enjoyed! Did you have a destination wedding?! How did you feel on your big day?! Do you have any questions?! Leave me a comment below

]]>What do U-2 spy plane pilots, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and TPG readers have in common? A penchant for the $2 bill.
The Wall Street Journal divulged some fascinating facts about the least common unit of currency in America. The conversation-sparking bill, which features Thomas Jefferson on the front and depicts the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back, is unusual, yet not rare: the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve last ordered the printing of 179.2 million $2 bills in 2016, according to the WSJ.
From a financial perspective, $2 bills are intrinsically worth exactly what their face value states: two US dollars. Nonetheless, $2 bills command an aura of grandeur far beyond their humble value. Bartenders pay a little more attention to patrons who tip with $2s; strip clubs that dispense $2 bills see significantly higher tips for their staff; and grocery store owners utilize the bills to stand out.
Steve Wozniak enjoyed purchasing sheets of uncut $2 bills, sometimes going so far as to have them perforated and bound into notepads he would then pull out in order to tip waitresses in restaurants. Air Force pilots who have solo-flown the extremely demanding U-2 plane earn membership into an exclusive clubhouse, where the $222 dues must be paid you guessed it entirely in $2 bills.
A very unscientific survey suggests significant overlap between people into points and people into twos, said Michael Phillips, the WSJ author of the article, perhaps united by the possibility of getting something for nothing be it a hotel room, an upgrade or a $5 thank-you for a $2 tip.
And the folksover in the TPG Loungeseem to agree, sharing some great stories of their own. Here are a sampling of our favorite uses, stories, and tricks for getting the most bang for your two bucks:
[Two-dollar bills] are so appreciated, its crazy. And the result is that servers and service providers actually feel appreciated. Use them only for tips, its the perfect value for so many situations (free breakfast at hotel, free drinks, car rental guy for moving your bags etc.) so you always have some for tipping. The only issue is getting new ones is takes some planning. You need to tell your bank in about Aug or Sept that you want new ones so they can get them transferred form the Fed around Nov. Thats the best time to get them without having to order hundreds of them because they bring in new bills since people want new bills to hand out for holidays. Otherwise you need to order about $1,000 worth because the bank has to order $2,000 worth form the Fed. Jerrod K.
If you live west of the Rockies, look for a Washington Federal bank. At the holidays especially, they bind $1 and $2 bills into little booklets of 25 bills with a cover, and sell at face value to customers. Its a great gift, and if you are using for tipping, you should see some of the looks you get when you literally peel the money out of a book, especially the 2s, its priceless. Paula H.
Strip clubs caught on early that if they gave out change in $2 bills their girls would often get better tips. Vivian D.
My grandpa used to always give me $2 bills when I was growing up and I thought they were so special practically unspendable. Not too long ago, I found the BIGGEST pile at my moms house from my childhood years. Now I know he was onto something. Bonnie H.
We were playing trivia at a bar recently and a question came up regarding who is on the $2 bill. My friend had one right there for a tip. Using your smartphone is cheating but using your $2 bill is ? Lynn P.
I carry $2 in my wallet for good luck, #chinesenewyear Martini B.
I always get around $20-$40 in 2s before vacation. Always a conversation starter and youre remembered by bartenders! Chas P.
One time for work we ran a promotion $2 for 2 minutes your time. My job was to get $10,000 in $2 bills at banks around Milwaukee, put them in an envelope, bring them to Boston and give out 5,000 envelopes with our companys name. I swear there were zero two dollar bills left in MKE. Went to about 40 banks. Tom B.
I always carry them when I travel. People tend to remember you better when you tip with a$2 bill. John D.
Yeah, its different than tipping with gold coins. In that case, people usually ask me if Im from Canada, or look at me like Im tipping with Chuck E Cheese tokens. I tip with $2s and save the $1 coins for the parking meters or tooth fairy. Paula H.
My brother was in a bar one night when a DJ offered $100 to the first person to bring him a$2 bill. My brother always had one in his wallet so he would never be broke / good luck charm, but he traded it in for $100. The DJ was a little surprised. A little while later my brother bought back the $2 bill for $10, so he still came out ahead for the night. I may have to start picking up a few of these for work travel / general use. Corey N.
I carry one small purse/makeup bag with 20$2 bills. Coffee money?$2. Tips?$2/bag. So useful. For longer trips I order$2 billsat the bank.By the way, I give our mail carrier, refuse collectors and others who warrant it, Christmas bonuses in$2 bills. Justfun. Our garbage collectors tell me they use the money to put in their kids Christmas stockings; now we feel $2 are mandated.Definitely order them early from your bank. Catherine M.
I order $50-100 worth as soon as I arrive in the US (Im an Aussie). At least once a day when I use them Ill get a smile or laugh from people saying theyd heard about them but only seen them once or twice, or that family members collect them.? Nicole S.
I just got a bunch for Lunar New Year! The kids love them. Adults too! Ann B.
Perfect for tips in situations where $1 not enough. Aaron C.
I am in South America now and brought a bunch for miscellaneous tips. In Vietnam theyre considered good luck. Claudia I.
When Clemson University goes to a bowl game, the fans bring$2 billswith a Tiger paw stamped on them. Shows the economic impact Clemson fans make. Keith G.
My fianc always carries a wallet full of $2 billsfor when we travel internationally. We give them to AirBNB hosts as thank yous and servers etc as tips. People are always wowed and so happy about seeing such a rare currency from theUSA. Last summer we left a trail of them across the Balkans, most appreciated by a server in a tiny restaurant in Mostar, Bosnia. After giving her the $2 tip on our $10 meal with beers, she was so excited she insisted on another round of beers and a shot on her! Michael S.
My stepdad would always carry one as good luck, and now I always do. But hearing all these good tips, I think I will pick a bunch up to carry for miscellaneous stuff. Vanessa P.
I just walked into a bank [and requested some $2 bills]. I needed to pull some cash anyway and I said do you have any weird money? lol. I got 40$2 bills, a few Susan B. Anthony coins, and a few of the golden $1 coins. Jan T.
My parents have been giving their grandchildren$2 billsfor every holiday since the day they were born. Valentines Day, St Patricks, Labor Day, etc. They are 27 and 20 and each probably have $400-$500 in a box. Cindy T.
Interested in acquiring some Jeffersons for yourself? You can request them from just about any bank in the US. If you want fresh bills, our readers suggest submitting your request well in advance of a special occasion such as Chinese New Years, when its customary to gift envelopes of money to friends and family.
If you dont care about the crispness of your attention-grabbing currency, just ask your friendly neighborhood bank teller for some the next time you go in. Chances are, theyll start setting aside $2 bills for you if youre polite about it.

]]>And speaking of mid-century elements, I chose thesetwo chrome globe lights to match all the other chrome options and continue that vintage feel that we have through the rest of our 60s ranch house as wellthey fit in perfectly!I still love having my hidden medicine cabinet DIY in the room and its where I store all the items like face wash, moisturizer, etc., that I use daily but dont want out on the counter. Its a super helpful way to get a little extra secret storage. This side of the room is an even bigger transformation! Like I said, those shower walls blocked most of the light from that small window from getting to the rest of the room, but now that we added thisglass shower, thats not a problem anymore!! Seeing all the way through those walls now makes the room feel at least 30-40% bigger and double the brightness, so Id say it was all worth the construction and demo we had to go through to get it done.We also chose to do a stacked large subway tile in the shower, and while I was a little nervous about the pattern, I love how it came out! The white helps the room feel the biggest that it can and it just looks clean and modern. I love that you can use the Delta 2-in-1 4-Spray Showerheadin multiple ways as a single rain shower head, a dual showerhead (with the handheld option on too), or as just a handheld. Ive always thought that handheld options in a shower look so luxurious and now I have my own! We also added a little shower niche in the shower so we can store shampoo, etc., there as well.
I loved when I added two shelves above the toilet last year for storage, so I kept that configuration as well. Besides the hidden medicine cabinet, its another great spot to keep out some things you use often and you can add some greenery to the space on the shelves as well.
Thats a pretty good motto if you ask me!I hope you can tell how delighted I am to have such an amazing bathroom transformation take place in our home! Bathroom renos can be some of the tougher ones as far as things being so messy, over budget, and take so much longer than you thought (all of which we experienced!). But now that its all done, it feels totally worth it and its a great way to add some value to the house while increasing our joy in using the bathroom on a daily basis too. Thanks for taking the tour with me to see a dream of mine come true! xo. Laura

]]>Like anything else, we put some time and thought into what we wanted to buy before we made the final purchase. We just like to make sure weve really considered everything, which is how we found ourselves with a whole list of awesome toys to consider and choose from. We figured wed might as well share that list so other people considering the same kind of gift can get a little help choosing too!
In addition to giving a gift thats a little more traditional to balance out all the screens in the lives of the kids you know, would you also like one that somehow promotes healthy living? Then maybe this adorable hand painted wooden fruits and vegetables set from CARLOBRO would work well for you!
Besides being very affordable indeed, this cute wooden set is also neat because its interactive and teaches a real-life action. Thats all thanks to the (blunt and child-safe) wooden knife that comes along with it! Each vegetable or piece of fruit in the set is halved with a little piece of Velcro in the centre so they can stick together, meaning your child can also use the knife to cut them apart!
View price on AmazonDo you really love this whole idea of gifting not just a wooden toy but one that encourages some kind of learning, even though fruits and vegetables werent really what you had in mind? Then perhaps youd rather share the gift of music!
This adorable set of wooden miniature instruments is more than impressive for the price. If you ask us, the best part is that they all actually make noise and work in the same way as their real, full sized versions, meaning youre actually introducing your kids to music in a way thats tangible and sets them ahead. We would probably have to resist playing with these ourselves!
View price on AmazonDid wereally pique your attention when we started talking about food based wooden play sets but the child you have in mind for gifting already has plenty off fake fruits and veggies? Maybe youre just looking for something even more interactive than the Velcro cutting action you saw earlier. Either way, we think youll get a kick out of this awesome wooden toast set from Tiny Land!
Besides being beautifully painted and totally kitschy (which are things we acknowledge thatwe would appreciate more than the kids receiving the piece), this set is also totally awesome in that its actually a little interactive. When you fit the wooden toast pieces inside the slots of the toaster, theyll actually pop up and down if you turn the handle on the side!
View price on AmazonIs the little girl youre planning on buying wooden toy set for already a total little diva with a budding passion for all things beauty based? Then wed be willing to bet that this awesomely detailed and fully equipped wooden beauty set from Dragon Drew would be a big hit!
This and painted set comes with ten pieces in total, ranging from miniature hair styling tools to pretend cosmetics and compacts. As if thats not adorable enough, the whole set also comes on a lovely little travel case thats very fashionable indeed. Shell be the envy of the playground!
View price on AmazonIs your little girl a mixture of tastes when it comes to the things she loves? Well, we can certainly understand that; one of the kids were buying for loves nothing more than the idea of ballerinas who also play other sports. Were sure you can imagine our excitement, then, when we came across this wooden train set that also happens to be painted pink like its carrying a princess!
We love the way this set provides something girly and cheerful but with an action based toy that kids will probably ask learning questions about too. Each of the pieces- the set comes with an engine and four cars, as well as two pieces of wooden track- features a magnetic end that will link it to the cars in front and behind it so they drag each other along (on the track or on the floor) just like a real train.
View price on AmazonAre you actuallyso taken with the idea of gifting a wooden instrument set to one of the little girls in your life that you cant help wondering if there isnt an even more thorough option out there? Well, not only is there an even bigger set, but its comparably priced too. TAIMASI Kids has it all together for you!
The biggest different between this set and the previous one we showed you is that this one has more percussion style instruments. Thats a great thing, however, because those are actually how kids first learn tone and rhythm before they move onto other things!
View price on AmazonAre you still thinking about how much you liked the idea of gifting a lovely little wooden cosmetics play set but youre just not sure that the child you have in mind will actually useall of the pieces in the previous model you saw? Then we think you might do better with this slightly smaller set from Hape.
Like the other set, this one still comes with a range of pretend makeup and hair things, as well as an adorable little carrying case to put it all in. Its a little more compact, however, with fewer pieces for a child to potentially lose. It also comes with an actual pink hairband too, which is very cute and useful indeed.
View price on AmazonDo you knot the little diva youre thinking of well enough to know that she usually just wants to do whatever the adults around her are doing, since shes three years old going on 30, as the saying goes? In that case, we think you simplymust check out this funny little wooden coffee maker play set offered by Tiny Land.
In addition to being just plain amusing for kids and adults a like (well admit the idea of watching a toddler carefully mix a latte is pretty cute), we love how interactive this set is. The top of the coffee maker actually opens and you can insert differently flavoured discs in the top just like coffee pods in your Keurig at home!
View price on AmazonNow, whenwe were little kids, all the dress up dolls we were given were simply made of paper. The idea of a wooden doll with matching wooden piece clothing that actually sticks to her with magnets is so neat that we practically want to get one for ourselves! Thats precisely how this set from Melissa & Dough works.
Of course, this isnt justany old doll; this set lets your little ones dress up Minnie Mouse! Its the perfect set for budding fashionistas and big Disney lovers all at once. Its also a little bit more affordable than some of the other options weve shown you so far.
View price on AmazonDid wereally catch your attention when we started talking about awesome wooden train sets but youre pretty certain that the little girl youre buying for would much rather have more pieces and track to run her train on than worry about what colour it is and whether theres a princess on board? Then wed suggest looking at this set from Kipipol instead!
This particular train set holds its cards together with magnets just like the other one, but it comes with more thanjust its three train cards too. Youll also get a police car, fire truck, and ambulance that work along the track, plus a lot more of the track itself! This set is much more thorough and customizable, but that also comes with a reasonable increase in price.
View price on AmazonBy this point on our list, are you feelingtotally set on the idea of buying your little girl a wooden toy, but shes actually a lot younger than the age range most of the toys youve seen so far are aimed at? Then perhaps youd get along better with something like these block puzzles made specifically for toddlers by Slotic!
We love that these puzzles are simple, adorable, and cartoonish thanks to their bright paint, but also that theyre a learning tool. Even just by putting the four or five pieces each one of these puzzles is made up of into place, your child is practicing their hand-eye coordination. As an added bonus, this particular bundle offers youall of the puzzles pictured rather than making you choose just one.
View price on AmazonAfter all that scrolling, are you actually still feeling enamoured with the fruits and veggies play set that you saw at the top but youre also kind of wondering whether there isnt a slightly bigger or more thorough set with even more pieces? Well, were pleased to report that CARLOBRO still has you covered!
This set is just as interactive and action based as the last one, with a wooden knife and vegetables and fruit that cut apart into pieces. This time, however, youre also getting a veggie crate, a cutting board, and additional tools like a potato peeler! Youll also receive more types of fruit and vegetable than the other set, which might help you introduce your kids to delicious foods theyve never tried before in a way thats fun rather than skeptical.
View price on AmazonDo you know another person who has been interested in buying some wooden kids toys for girls lately but they also feel like they need to see a few more ideas? Share this post with them so they have even more great things to choose from!

]]>The sex industry isnt booming, it is EXPLODING. It isnt an industry that is just hidden behind closed doors anymore and sniggered about behind toilet blocks. People talk about it and with the anonymity of the internet we are buying kinky shit at a huge rate. On top of that, the sex industry is the only industry where women make more money than men do! #winning
But could female escorts and sex workers soon be out of business and replaced by plastic dolls?
Sex Doll Brothels are now a thing and they are popping up all over the world. You can book a sex doll in a quiet room and do what you wish to it.
Fanny is the top selling sex worker at an Austrian brothel called Kontakthof in Vienne. The thing is, Fanny is a Japanese synthetic sex doll. You can rent out Fanny for as little as AU $129 per hour (she actually commands more money than some of the real escorts who work at the brothel). She is so popular the brothel is bringing in a second sex doll to meet the demand for silicone love!
To hire Fanny, get in line because she is often booked out for weeks in advance. You would need to make a reservation with Fanny, and pay a deposit, in case of damage.
After Fanny has been soiled, she is professionally cleaned and disinfected for the next customer.
If you wanted to buy a sex doll like Fanny, it will set you back a huge $2300!
When booking a sex doll, you can request the type of outfit she will be wearing (it is usually lingerie but for an additional cost she can be dressed up exactly how you like!). You can also request what position you would like the doll set up in when she greets you inside the room. Then, provided you dont put additional holes in her, you can do whatever you like within the timeframe you have paid for!
Although most sex brothels dont exactly disclose how their dolls are cleaned after use, according to a sex brothel employee, each doll is showered and washed with warm soap and water. Then the orifices (vagina, anus and mouth) are blasted with a pressure cleaner filled with a disinfectant. Then an ultra-violet light is shone over the doll to ensure all body fluids are effectively removed. Apparently it takes an hour to effectively clean a sex doll then have her re-dressed, have her hair done and any makeup touches before she is ready for the next customer.
It is unknown if men are required to wear a condom with the dolls.
I dont think I want to know more than that..
Ladies we all know we indulge in a bit of silicone self-love. so who are we to judge the fellas that want to do the same? It is a sad stereotype that people presume that men want to have sex with a thing instead of real woman because of socially anxiousness, fear of rejection or they are into serious kinky shit that a may involve violence (or are just rapey). But that doesnt seem to be the case.
Sex Tech Expert Jenna Owsianik says that some people are just turned on by dolls or robots and want to explore that side of their sexuality. Others are in relationships where their partner are ill or for some reason are no longer having sex with them. These men dont want to cheat on their partners so are turning to these dolls as an alternative to sex with a real woman.
But there are silicone male dolls available too just not yet in brothels (its a supply and demand thing). But I know this will change in the next few years as the brothels build up public acceptability.
Because sex dolls are an outlet for some customers who may want to experiment with non-consensual sex or physical violence but dont want to actually hurt someone, there is an uproar about sex doll brothels. Others say that the doll is Unable to give consent. Jesus people it is a doll! I am certainly not going to ask my vibrator for permission before I start it buzzing. And when it comes to violence, personally I think it is better that a doll is hit than a person.
Personally, I think sex doll brothels are a great idea for people with violent tendencies, better they do it to a doll than a real person.
A proposed sex doll brothel in Houston, Texas was blocked by the City as Citizens could not engage in sexual activities with any inanimate object at a business.
Sex Doll Brothels arent likely to be mainstream for many years yet. And I dont think a doll can ever replace a sex worker who not only provides sexual services, but also compassion and conversation. Yes it is weird, but isnt everything until you get used to the idea?
If you ask me, my holiday shopping struggles dont come from last-minute gift shopping, but last-minute stocking stuffer shopping. Its easy to get hyper-focused on the main gift youre getting someone and completely forget about making sure your loved ones have stocking stuffers to rummage through on Christmas morning.
Cut your frantic holiday shopping out completely, and stock up on these tried-and-true stocking stuffers (that they wont end up forgetting about on December 26).

]]>Fast forward to 2020, most of us own way more makeup and other beauty products that we can ever use. And fit on our vanity and bathroom sink. So, if these spots in your house are buried in countless tubes, jars, and compacts, its time to declutter your beauty stash. We found the best makeup organizers according to the internet, to help you organize your cosmetics products.
Fact: keeping your vanity organized will save you time in the morning. You can sort your products according to their function. For example separate your face, eye, and lip makeup for easy access at any time. You can further organize by color. For instance, keep your nude lipsticks in one container along with coordinating lip liners and repeat the method with all your color products. However, none of this would be possible if you dont have a makeup organizer in which you can neatly house all your beauty goodies. Ideally, one thats both pretty and practical!
We went everywhere on the internet, stalked makeup artists and beauty gurus on social media, to locate the best makeup organizers that are worth their weight in gold. Below, youll find top-rated makeup organizers that will help you corral your cosmetics products once and for all.
Shany Mini Makeup Train Case With Mirror Lost Cheetah $35.66
]]>This week, a vintage subway train across the New York Transit Museum transformed into a makeshift runway, as Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott had models parade down a slew of preserved subway cars for its Pre-Fall 2020 presentation (also the brand's first-ever New York show). Pumping up the '80s New Yorker spirit of the show were big gold logo chains, oversized backpacks, giant baseball caps, and super-sized puffers.
"I wanted to pay homage to the cool kids and chic ladies that both inhabit and intersect with the city, so for that reason, showing in New York was a must," Scott told PAPER. "The subway runs from uptown to downtown. This mix of uptown and downtown is just like my collection. I love that juxtaposition of elements that are not normally expected together. It makes it a more dynamic and exciting pairing."
Over in the beauty department, a string of hair stylists, makeup and tattoo artists all collaborated to create looks to complement the theme. Japanese nail artist Mei Kawajiri crafted more than 1,200 nail tips by adding cut gold chains, silver metal hoops, and the words "Moschino" in glimmering letters. Hair stylist Jimmy Paul whipped up a range of retro styles such as braids, finger waves, and trimmed bangs topped with gold metallic spray.
Related | Kacey Musgraves, Aquaria and Kim Petras Kiki on the Subway
Legendary makeup artist and frequent Moschino collaborator Kabuki was tasked with putting together and directing the makeup looks for the night. In collaboration with tattoo artist JonBoy, the duo calligraphed temporary face tattoos with the words "Moschino" and "New York" pasted across models' foreheads.
The tattoos were accompanied by a '90s nude lip liner and ultra-defined brows a look put together to amplify the feeling of "elegance," Kabuki told PAPER, crediting Scott with the idea. "I am a big proponent of personal style, and nothing is more personal than a tattoo, especially on the face," Scott said. "We collaborated with JonBoy to give these temporary face tattoos the most realistic aspect we could."
Scott's well-established "rebel" status in fashion was further enhanced by Moschino's makeup. "It's a very tough look," Kabuki said. "It was inspired by gangs and it's almost a rebellious look [with] the black lip liner, but I'm handling it in a way of complete anal retentive perfection and beauty with no hair out of place. [There were] a lot of natural beauty tricks to make the models look immaculate, so that it really comes across as a very polished desirable look."
Talking with PAPER, Kabuki further broke down the inspiration behind Moschino's looks, working with Jeremy Scott, and makeup for men.
Were most of these looks collaborative with Jeremy?
I think [Jeremy's] hiring me because he knows I will put a personal vision into something, or personal attention to detail, and that's why I get asked back. I understand he likes to keep things quite simple, so that someone never looks over made up. All these makeup "tricks" are to always make the person look beautiful, not to make them look like they've been sitting in a makeup chair for three hours. You want to keep the freshness, their own personalities, and their own beauty. Ultimately it's about the clothes and the attitude, so a lot of the makeup tricks and details go unnoticed, but they add to the effect.
Transformation has been a big theme across your work. How does that tie into what you've done for this collection?
Picasso said that "art is the lie that tells the truth," so in a way when you're making the gorgeous skin and the perfect eyebrows, you're really bringing out that person. Even that act of turning them into another person and really polishing them, it makes them feel really good. With the clothes and the atmosphere of the show, it brings this energy up, and that energy is transformative. It's like a party, and that's what fashion is about. It's that moment that everyone remembers when they were there. In a way that's what actors do: they use makeup, and they have to feel like there's a ritual before they go out on stage and then there's the performance.
How did you and Jeremy first start working together?
He asked me to do a fashion show. We'd met once before when I was working in nightclubs. I guess he was a student? This was before he was a designer. It was a quick introduction, and so I didn't know that he knew me. I was a big fan of his. Then I got a call to do makeup for the cover of Japanese i-D, which he shot the cover for with Coco Rocha and one of his dresses for the frame. So I just went over there and I was like, "How about I paint the shadows on her face, so she's a painting of herself?" That was the first time we worked together. Nobody else was around, it was just the three of us and we did the photos. This was long ago! Maybe 10 years?
And you've been working together since then?
He actually asked me if I liked doing fashion shows and I said "no." That's how slick I am. I think I had just done a few of my first fashion shows and they were difficult ones and it was fine. They're so much work, but I didn't know that it was a job interview so he didn't call me right away for a show because of that.
What do you now think about fashion shows now?
Now it's not like the first day of school; it's always a little bit scary, but you'll have your past experience to draw on. You learn from each time, so it gets better and better. It's really fun, it's like live theater. There's nothing to compare to that excitement of seeing everybody look fantastic and seeing everything come together.
What are your thoughts on the rise of men's makeup?
I've put lipstick and other types of obvious makeup on male models at shoots and it didn't diminish their masculinity if it was there to begin with in the first place. It just brought out an intensity, kind of a rock star thing. The test to whether makeup will definitely look cool on you isn't about gender at all, it's whether you're good looking and in your twenties.
You've worked with a lot of male celebrities throughout the years, most notably Michael Jackson. How did that happen?
I had worked with Macaulay Culkin, and I thought that maybe it was a case of he'd mentioned me to him, but it wasn't like that at all. Michael told me he liked my shading. I think he would've worked with Kevyn Aucoin, since he was a fan of Kevyn's makeup. He was just looking for somebody who could do makeup as some sort of a painter really. That's how it happened, but really it came out of the blue. I was wondering after that, Who's gonna call me next? Donald Duck? [Laughs]
Does anyone ever think Michael Jackson is gonna call them? It was a great experience. I still remember really well, because there was a real connection and respect that I felt. I felt like I was with a true artist someone that was very sensitive. It wasn't like working with a celebrity that keeps checking their Instagram to see how many hits they got. It was nothing like that at all, it was really old school, just focusing on what you're doing. Not in a high pressure way, just in a happy we're here to do this, enjoyable way.
Michael was easy to work with?
He was very respectful. The thing that I don't like in a job is if I'm prevented from doing my job. I felt that he was giving me a lot of respect by letting me work and appreciating the craft. Also, he was fascinating to watch just dancing spontaneously and being humble and sweet. He treated everybody really nicely.
